KUHF, The Front Row, April 14, 2010 - KUHF’s Catherine Lu speaks with Toni Valle, Leslie Scates, and Sara Draper. They are three of the six Houston choreographers whose latest work will be featured in Danceplorations. Ms. Draper is the Artistic Director of Dancepatheatre, which presents this evening of dance pieces that investigate intersections between movement, story, spoken-word and singing voice. Also included on the program are works by Houston choreographers, Elizabeth Lucrezio, Lydia Hance and Katelyn Halpern.

KUHF, The Front Row, December 1, 2009 - Choreographer-dancer Sara Draper is the Artistic Director of Dancepatheatre. Dancer-singer Raúl Orlando Edwards is the Artistic Director of Houston’s Foundation for Modern Music. Their two organizations jointly present Letters You Wrote, a program of contemporary dance and improvised music inspired by personal letters written by Americans during the years 1945 to 1965, some of which will be read by actor, Mossie Burcham. Edwards and Draper talk about the upcoming performance with St. John Flynn. (Please note that the performance was subsequently cancelled due to weather, and postponed until Spring, 2010.)

Their collaborative program, Caution: Women at Work, was the center-piece of Dancepatheatre’s International Women’s Day Soirée, which also included a wine reception, award presentation, dinner and a silent auction.
